On Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, children of the parish gathered with their parents, grandparents and friends to enjoy the annual Breakfast with Santa. All were treated to a hearty breakfast that included scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and more. And, of course, the children were excited with the arrival of Santa and each given a present. The photos of Santa with the children (and other older children at heart) were taken by Bill Thibault.

Twenty-one children received the Sacrament of First Reconciliaiton. It was so nice to see the support of their families on this special day. Not only were their parents there to support them, but brothers, sisters, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Our theme was \"The Lost Sheep.\" Twenty-two lit candles that were placed in front of the altar signifying the children and the light of Christ in each of them. After a homily by Father Cesta, each child read a way that the light of Christ goes out. Some of the examples were, \"When I fight with my brother or sister.\" \"When I don\'t go to Mass.\" \"When I make fun of someone who is different from me.\" \"When I say unkind things about others.\" \"When I don\'t obey my parents or teachers.\" After each one was read, the child blew out their candle. Then they went to confession and when they were finished talking with the priest, they had a \"One Found Sheep\" pin put on them and re-lit their candle, as the light of Christ was now shining bright within them. A pizza luncheon followed in the Salerno Room after the ceremony. These images were captured by Terri Panuccio.

The Junior-Senior High School students ended their second session of classes. Zach Miller, a seminarian in the Syracuse diocese, spoke to the teens about his vocation to the priesthood. Next, he had some volunteers do an icebreaker similar to rock, paper, scissors, only with Ninja, bear, and hunter. He then began the evening of fun with a prayer. The night included making lunch, which included a snack and a sandwich, playing games and dancing to Just Dance 4 on the XBOX! Mr. LaPolla and Zach joined in and showed the kids that they could move! These images were captured by Terri Panuccio.
