The parish’s annual Italian Festival began Friday, July 19, under beautiful blue skies. People started filling the parish grounds early, many heading for the food tent for sausage and peppers, meatball subs, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and beef skewers and much more. Terry Reale, Mario Scalzo, Joe Furgol, Joe Briggs and Joe Siniscarco have been mainstays before, during and after the festival for decades. They are among a number of others — such as John Jones, Bill Thibault and Carmen D’Ambro — who are dedicated workers who combined have volunteered for more than two centuries!
