For the first time probably since its inception, Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament will not have its annual Italian Festival this summer.
Father Jim announced due to the Covid-19 pandemic and adhering to state and CDC guidelines, the festival will not take place. Many other festivals and gatherings around the region, state and nation have been canceled because of the health emergency.
There is good news, however. Father Jim said our Buono Fortuna raffle will take place. Tickets will be available during late summer or early fall, with the drawing for the $10,000 prize coming in late fall.
Also, Father Jim said we all can look forward to next year’s festival and other festivities as our parish celebrates its 125th anniversary.
