Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament’s Mardi Gras fest took place Saturday, Feb. 18, at the New Hartford American Legion Post.

The event was sponsored by the and chaired by Bill and Jackie Thibault and Joanne Gerace, where they met the guests with beads, masks and Mardi Gras music.

The ballroom was decorated in typical New Orleans Mardi Gras style. As guests arrived, their pictures were taken and they were provided with a memorable photo holder.

The food consisted of American, Italian and a New Orleans Jumbalaya. The meal concluded with individual King Cakes for each table, and at each table one guest was surprised to find the traditional baby in their serving.

Chuck Sardina and his daughter Mary were selected as the Mardi Gras King and Queen.

The highlight of the evening was the Grand Parade led by the newly crowned royalty. Many of the guests attended the event in Mardi Gras attire.
