Is there someone in your family or among your friends who wishes to receive the Eucharist on a weekly or monthly basis and is unable to attend Mass because of illness or disability?
Are you willing to be an extraordinary minister for that person and bring the Eucharist to them? You are qualified if you have been baptized, confirmed and if you care compassionately about the person who is ill or unable to attend Mass.
If this is a possibility for you, call the parish office at 315-735-1482 and leave your name and phone number and the name and location of the sick person. We will set up a very short training meeting for you after the Mass you attend on Sunday morning at Mount Carmel. We hope to continue and extend this ministry coordinated by parishioner Maria Kozak.
If you are willing to visit someone you may not know who is sick or has a disability, and would like to be trained for this ministry, let us know. There always are people who want to receive the Eucharist and who are unable to attend Mass. We could assign you for one or more of them based on your convenience.
