Congratulations to Immaculata Award recipient

Phil Cornacchia received the Immaculata Award on Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse. This award is given to one person from each parish who generously and unselfishly volunteers time and service to his or her parish.

Phil has been an usher here for all of his adult life and continues to usher at our 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass each week. He was an active member of our Holy Name Society, offering his help at whatever event was being planned and attending the men’s retreat each year. He has worked at our annual Parish Festival each year on the hottest days of summer connecting our stoves for cooking.

Phil nearly is 102 years old and loves St. Mary of Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament Parish. He exemplifies what it is to be a loyal parishioner and a faithful Catholic.
