Congratulations to graduates from parish

The following information has been received from the parents of our parish graduates. We are proud of our students and wish to acknowledge their accomplishments. For the next several weeks, we will feature them in our bulletin and online:

  • Antonio Ricco is the son of Anthony and Lucia Ricco. He graduated from New Hartford High School, where he was on the High Honor Roll. He will be a political science major in the fall at the College of the Holy Cross.
  • Anthony Ruggiero graduated from Whitesboro High School with high honors. He is the son of Joe and Maria Ruggiero. He was a member of the Na­tional Honor Society and re­ceived awards/scholarships from GPO Federal Credit Un­ion and the Utica Police De­partment Credit Union. He will major in broadcast jour­nalism at the Newhouse Com­munications School at Syra­cuse University.
  • Joseph Ruggiero is the son of Joe and Maria Ruggiero. He graduated from Whitesboro High School with honors. He was a member of the National Honor Society and received awards/scholarships from the Utica Police Department Credit Un­ion. He will attend Keuka College in the fall majoring in biomedical biology.
  • Rachel Surace is the daughter of Steve and Gina Surace. She graduated from Whitesboro High School and received the award for the most supporting cross-country runner. She will attend St. John Fisher College in the fall.
  • Rachel Van Deusen graduated from Westmoreland High School and received awards in science, math, ELA, Social, gym and music. She will attend St. John Fisher College and major in nursing. She is the daughter of Rob and Sandy Van Deusen.
  • Katherine Elacqua is the daughter of Vincent and Lois Elacqua. She recently graduat­ed from the College of the Ho­ly Cross (magna cum laude). She was a member of the Jesu­it Honors Society and received the Crompton Gold Medal for scientific writing. She will work as a research assistant at the Maine Medical Center.
  • Daniel Geary graduated cum laude with a degree in crimi­nology from SUNY Cortland. He received an award for Out­standing Student Leader. He is the son of Stephen and Patti Geary.
  • Angelina Mancuso graduated from SUNY Cortland with a degree in health education. She will be a health teacher in the Utica City School Dis­trict in the fall. She is the daughter of Michael and Michelle Mancuso.
  • Sophia Ricco is the daughter of Anthony and Lucia Ricco. She graduated from Stony Brook University School of Journalism magna cum laude. She is a staff writer at the Long Islander News.
  • Nicholas Bruzzese is the son of Fred and Michele Bruzzese. He graduated from Utica College with a master’s degree in cybersecurity.
  • Alexander Vincent Roche Babbie recently graduated from Edmeston Central School with several scholarships including the Edmeston United Methodist Women’s  American Legion Auxiliary, LeeBain/Sylvia DeForest Memorial, ECS Faculty, Advanced Regents, Patrick Burke Memorial, Thomas Frank Mullet Foundation, CFES mentoring Award, Troop 9 Eagle Scout Award, Spanish Club Award, Clark Memorial Scholarship. He will attend Siena College and major in psychology. He is the son of Shannon and Michelle Roche Babbie.
