On Thursday, June 22, the Burmese bishop and three fellow priests were visiting our area. They stayed in our rectory and spent time with our Burmese parishioners, with whom they celebrated Mass at Mount Carmel / Blessed Sacrament in their native language. The priests from Myanmar are Bishop John Saw Yaw Han, the Rev. Albert Saw, the Rev. Paulus Clo Htoo and the Rev. Conrad Moe Kyaw Htoo.
About 240 people attended the annual Communion Breakfast Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass at Daniele’s Banquet Facility on Seneca Turnpike in New Hartford. The guest speaker was David Barosci, who spoke about “The Joy-filled Voice of Mary.” The menu consisted of scrambled eggs, hats and broccoli, baked Virginia ham, roasted potatoes, Belgian waffles with strawberries and cream, chicken bianco, mini bagels with cream cheese, fresh fruit salad, juices, coffee and tea.
On Saturday March 25, 2017, children in our parish who are preparing for their First Communion attended a morning workshop with their parents. The morning began with breakfast and a reading from the gospel of St. Luke about The Road to Emmaus. (Luke 24:13-35). It was in the BREAKING OF THE BREAD that the apostles realized Jesus was among them after rising from the dead. The children, with help from their parents, made chalices, pew banners and participated in a church search. These photos courtesy of Terri Panuccio.
